It feels like this trip has been a long time coming. A few years ago when Leah was living and traveling in Europe, she told me, "We have to come back and make a trip here together one day!" Of course I was all in, we just had to plan the right time to go. We both ended up moving back home around the same time, and almost immediately started making plans on when we were moving out west. It made sense to us that we would make our trip before the move - I mean, we had to quit our jobs anyways, we might as well get some traveling in before settling in a new place.

So, months of preparation and planning later, here we are. I do feel truly fortunate to be able to take this trip with my sister, but I also recognize the work and dedication we put in in order to make this a reality. When we put our minds to something, we make it happen.

As Manda mentioned, I lived in Germany for a short three months in 2012 where I was able to travel most of the countries that we will be visiting on our trip. I could not be more excited to go back to Europe and experience it with my sister. As we anxiously finish packing and squeezing our backpacks tight tonight, my mind keeps going back to the thought of how lucky we are to get to do this together. We are both embracing this sense of freedom - being jobless and spending the next month traveling together. Did we mention that once we get home from our Europe trip we will only be here another week before we caravan across the U.S.? We are in this together.

Stay tuned!
