Rest is a Fertile Space

When was the last time you allowed yourself to experience the winter?

To embody the season you're in?

To shed the dead leaves and fertilize the soil for new growth?

To trust in the natural rhythms of the earth?

We need safety in order to expand.

Rest is about creating safe spaces for ourselves.

Creating that fertile soil to build everything upon.

Rest is less effective as a reward.

Rest is EVERYTHING as a foundation we build our dreams upon.

We don’t rest because it’s the easy option — we rest because we’re serious about becoming and living as who we truly are.

As the year comes to an end, I like to take time for gratitude towards the blessings that have come about – and to make room for new growth.

Below is a ritual & playlist for cultivating deep restoration & gratitude.

Enjoy, xo.

Ritual

Try this for a week— every morning, write down 10 things that you're grateful for.

Be specific (i.e. rather than "I'm grateful for nice weather," try "I'm grateful for this nice weather because it means I'll be able to get outside and move my body.") and try not to repeat things. Notice what comes up for you and how you feel afterwards.

Listen to this

A soothing playlist for rest and restoration.
